Female, ~12/5/19
We took Gracie in on 12/5/24. She was skin and bones, had so many litters of pups her nipples literally dragged the ground, had/has a crushed front leg, was in pain, severely anemic, her nails were in terrible shape, and she was super lethargic. In short she was in rough shape. We later got a diagnosis of Babesia which is a tick borne illness that attacks your red blood cells and takes a long time to treat but we finally got that cleared up and were able to get her stable enough to spay her. In the middle of this we got an autoimmune diagnosis in which her nails are being attacked by her body causing them to break and bleed and we have been treating that. As time went on it became clear that she is an older dog. Normally we get dogs in super rough shape that look old but as time goes on they heal and look better. That just didn't happen with our Gracie girl. She is just an older dog that was never given a fair shake. Through it all she has been a trooper!!! Her coat is better, her nips no longer drag, and now she smiles!
At a recent vet appointment, we discussed her long term outlook. We are in a spot where we have done basically everything we can for her and now it’s a question of quality of life. She still loves to play, loves toys, is great with other dogs and cats, and has plenty of life left in her. She will likely be on meds for the rest of her life for her nails and pain management for her front crushed leg injury and arthritis. Since we have gotten her as healthy as we can, we have recently and finally put her up for adoption!
So! Anyone out there in the market for the sweetest older girl?!! She is SUCH an easy dog other than she needs meds, and she could really benefit from some acupuncture and a chiropractor. She is potty trained, great in a crate, loves her toys, and loves to lounge around. She will make a great addition to any family that is willing to love her and care for her in her old age.
If interested in meeting to possibly adopt, please fill out our Adoption Application and we will be in touch!

Emmett is a happy little guy who just wants to cuddle and have snacks. He is only 25 lbs and is full grown. Emmett and Chip were rescued from a really bad hoarding abuse case and sadly, spent most of their lives in a small crate. We have spent months teaching them how to walk, run, play, and socialize. Emmett has struggled more than Chip with potty training and socializing, but has recently started making huge strides. He was terrified of going outside initially, but has recently started going in the backyard willingly and is even starting to play out there with his doggy friends! He still wears belly bands while in the house but potty training is starting to really click. In short, he is discovering his new world and how to be a dog and is improving daily. Emmett gets along really well with other dogs and cats. He also thinks chickens are cool. He walks well on his leash but is still shy and nervous and will need someone with patience to help him build his confidence. He’s very curious and smart. He loves to wiggle on his back and play first thing in the morning. Having someone who can be with him most of the day would be ideal because he just wants to be near you and to be part of everything. He does well in his crate and loves car rides. Emmett is a wonderful dog and will make a terrific companion to the forever person willing to give him the happy ending he so much deserves.

Frances is a small dog with a big heart, and a past that proves how resilient he truly is. Recently brought into our rescue from a hoarding situation, he came to us with very little socialization and a lot of fear. His early life was full of hardship, and it shows in the way he initially approaches new people and environments with caution. But despite everything he’s been through, Frances is already showing remarkable progress. With gentle guidance, patience, and consistency, he’s beginning to trust, and the difference in just a short time is incredible. He may need a little extra time to warm up, but once he knows you’re his person, Frances becomes the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for. He wants nothing more than to be by your side, and his size makes him the perfect lap dog for someone seeking a devoted cuddle buddy. Frances could thrive as the only dog in a calm, understanding home, or he could live with another dog given proper time and slow introductions. What he needs most is a patient family that will let him unfold at his own pace and show him the love he has always deserved. This little guy has survived a difficult beginning, now he’s ready for a gentle, safe, and loving forever home where he can finally flourish.

Female, 5-6 years old

Meet Sid, a sweet, resilient dog who has endured more than his fair share of ups and downs. Originally adopted, Sid was heartbreakingly returned to the shelter, not because he did anything wrong, but because his previous family couldn’t give him the time he deserved. They felt it was unfair for him to be crated for 12 hours a day, and wanted better for him. Unfortunately, that decision led to Sid spending the next year and a half in the shelter, becoming the second-longest resident there. Over time, the stress took a toll on him, and he began to shut down emotionally. But through it all, Sid never lost his kind spirit, and now that he’s out, he’s beginning to bloom again. Sid can be a bit reserved at first, but once he trusts you, he reveals his deeply affectionate and loyal side. He loves toys and finds so much joy in simple play. He would do best as an only dog or with other mellow dogs. Sid would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can finally have the attention and peace he’s gone without for so long. Sid doesn’t need much, just a patient person, a few good toys, and a soft place to land. If you’re ready to give a deserving dog the second chance he’s been waiting for, Sid will reward you with quiet loyalty, tender love, and a heart full of gratitude.
